First Line:
"I STARED OUT THE CLASSROOM WINDOW AND longed for freedom, wanting to be anywhere in the world other than gaping up at my economics teacher like the rest of my classmates."
Summary:
Nightmares, a strange boy, and creatures of another realm out for blood.
Ellie's life is flipped on its head once she "awakens" on her 17th birthday courtesy of Will, the strange boy who she can't help being drawn to. Awaiting memories she cannot force, Ellie is thrust into a life she does not remember, fighting the very creatures that haunted her dreams.
Are they actually memories in disguise?
My Review: NO SPOILERS
Such a great read!
I was a little skeptical at first, just because the story starts in high school and seems fairly cliche at first, but you can really tell that a lot of love was put into this.
As the story progresses, I found myself getting emotionally attached to Will and Ellie, their individual stories, and the way they interacted with each other. Their relationship is filled with so much respect, longing, and angst.
I did also enjoy the gore and fight scenes. While I enjoyed witnessing all of the action, some of the dialogue during those scenes were a tad cliche, and the fight scenes did go on very long. Otherwise, I really loved the movement and action!
Well done!
