Brain Food: What I've Been Eating Lately

Happy Saturday!

I hope the day/week has treated you well so far. This week I'm trying something different and discussing something unrelated to reading or writing. Although food is considered brain food, I have always considered food to be a pleasure. On that note, let me share some SoFlo restaurants and suggestions for each!

I recently came to this restaurant solely to try their paella! The location is directly on the pier, with an amazing view of the beach and the ocean. It was perfect for getting that sea breeze and for people-watching as we ate!

We ended up getting their Ultimate Paella, which included chicken, shrimp, scallops, chorizo, clams, and peppers! Of course delicious (I mean, look at it) and even better enjoyed with good company.

As an afterthought, we got their World-Famous Key Lime Pie, featured in the second image! SO creamy and tangy, the meal was easily a 10/10.

I believe my mom discovered this restaurant one day while scrolling Instagram, and we have not been able to get enough of it since! If you are looking for authentic Thai food, this is the place to go!

The service is amazing, and it feels like home the way their servers address and cater to you. My go-to is the Crispy Pork Belly Basil Stir-Fried. Say that five times fast. It's simple and savory, and my absolute favorite!

La Vie features tasty Lebanese food with a fusion of authentic and modern elements. The atmosphere makes you feel like you're somewhere else entirely.

Their Hummus appetizer with pita bread is so addicting that I always have to pace myself. So addictive and light, it's an absolute must!

My favorite dish, featured in the second photo, is their Beef Kabob. When I tell you, the meat is tasty, the tortilla it comes on is tasty, and the sauces are tasty? I mean every word! Deceptively filling and satisfying.

Last but certainly not least! A quaint Thai restaurant with some delicious food! Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures of what I usually get (which is sushi), but I do have some of the appetizers, which should not be overlooked.

The first picture is of their Edamame. This is probably my favorite appetizer from any restaurant I've tried. They seemed to be cooked in soy sauce and garlic, and those flavors brought each other out. Incredibly tasty!

The other appetizer is their Crispy Calamari. It has a tangy red sauce that you can dip the pieces into, and is the only calamari I know of that is gluten-free (out of the restaurants I've been to)! Another must-have if you come to this restaurant!

Thank you to everyone who read through this whole post! I know it's a little different from what I usually talk about, but food is just another topic I am incredibly passionate about. Happy Saturday!
