First Line:
As the prison doors slam shut behind me, I question every decision I've ever made in my life.
Summary:
Brooke Sullivan knows the rules of the men's maximum-security prison, and yet she is breaking them all.
She already has a history with Shane Nelson, "one of the penitantiary's most notorious and dangerous inmates." But this job is what she needs to take care of her son, even if her testimony is what land him in prison in the first place.
Her past comes rushing back to her through a series of events that risks her safety all over again.
My Review: NO SPOILERS
Plot twist central!
After the first plot twist I was like ok, not too surprising
The second plot twist really caught me by surprise
The third plot twist was the icing on the cake
This is one of those books where you think you know what’s gonna happen, and you’re really wracking your brain to make the right choice, but it still catches you off guard.
I liked the plot of this book, but something that really made it fall flat was the main character for me. She didn't have much personality, and it didn't really make me root for her. I wanted her to have more depth, so I could really get into the story. Otherwise, the book overall was good!

My Favorite Quote(s):
I could still turn around and leave this place. Unlike the residents of this prison, I don't have to be here.
