First Line:
The first time I meet Deeat, I am . . . not ready.
Summary:
God's last angel.
After his brothers failed to eradicate the human race, he has made it his goal to avoid the woman who cannot die. He knows his brothers befell the same fate, and now Lazarus must decide how she can stop him.
When she comes in contact with the other horsemen, Lazarus faces a decision. Seduce Death, or let humankind fall to his hand.
My Review: NO SPOILERS
No hate to the other horsemen, but the way that Death bantered had me in a chokehold this whole book! I also loved that he was honest about how he wanted Lazarus! Swooning! The little glimpses of his humanity and that ENDING?! No better way to end this series.
I think what also set this book apart from the others was how Lazarus genuinely fought back against Death, even when she had to experience dying each time. The tension in this book was paced to perfection.

My Favorite Quote(s):
"If we are to be enemies, then hurt me."
"All of creation falls to me, kismet. Kings and beggars, babies and warriors. Whales and flies, redwoods and dandelions. It all ends. And when it does, I am there to claim it."
I sit there, not knowing what to say. Because I don’t have anything reciprocal to say, except, perhaps, that beneath his powers, Thanatos is also strange and lovely.
I pinch my eyes at the endearments, wanting to shut this part out—the part where he slips his way under my skin and sinks into my bones.
