Favorite Memories From the Library

Hey readers, happy Saturday!

Todays post is more of a word vomit than anything else because I realized I have not been to a library since middle school. MIDDLE SCHOOL!

Recently I passed by my local library and there were basically no cars in the lot, so I thought I’d share my favorite memories about going to the library.

A major part of my life took place in my local library, particularly the young adult section. My mom would go upstairs to get her own books, and I was free to roam the shelves looking for what I wanted to read.

My brain must have been a sponge in that point in my life because i was reading around 4-5 books every 3-5 days. I would never have the time to do that now, but honestly I’m impressed with little me.

Because I read so fast, I had to get a pile of books every time I went to the library. I didn’t want to make my mom drive back and forth every few days to get me new books, so I always ended up leaving with a dozen or so books.

If my mom wasn’t done with her own perusing, I used to sit in a chair by the stairs to the second floor, and start reading one of the books from my pile.

Sometimes I miss the days where I would spend a day reading an entire trilogy. I don’t read as frequently, but I’m still proud I got back into reading once I finished college.

Do you have any memories being at the library? As a kid? As an adult? Let me know! Happy Saturday, writers <3
