First Line:
"There was an army of vampires encamped on the outskirts of my father’s kingdom."
Summary:

Her father and kingdom expect her to get close to her new husband, and assassinate him, but after two failed attempts, Isolde finds herself conflicted. Her feelings for Adrian continue to grow steadily, as does her self-hatred for loving a monster.

My Review: NO SPOILERS
Wonderful!
Full of unanswered questions, violence, and lust, I dove into this book and did not come up for air. Isolde and Adrian’s relationship was a whirlwind, where Isolde had to distinguish what felt right and what was wrong. I loved the way they unfolded their feelings! It was a mixture of toxicity, longing, and a connection they could not deny.
I also loved the plot! There was so much deception, where certain characters began to show their true colors as time went on, thus starting a new kind of war.
There were some literary nuggets in this book that I also noted on GoodReads. Awesome writing!
