Never-Ending Nightmares 2: Updates

It's been a long time since I've talked about Never-Ending Nightmares, my first book that was published in 2017. At the time, it was something that I wasn't proud of, both because I didn't think the book was entirely edited and finished, but I took a leap and threw it on a line, hoping it would catch someone's attention. Anyone's attention.

A lot of time has passed since then (6 years to be exact), and I am finally putting in the work to write a sequel! This blog will serve as a refresh for what happened in the first book (spoiler-free), and my progress on the sequel so far.

Never-Ending Nightmares is a young adult fiction novel centered around Harper, a teenager who is unaware that her reoccurring dreams are more dangerous than she ever imagined. She is thrown into a new world of nightmares, and the people tasked to erase them from the mortal world. This book has themes of violence and gore.

I have always been a fan of fantasy, and when I got this idea of nightmares bleeding into reality, I decided that I wanted to run with the idea. Fortunately for me, this book came easily. As a 19-year-old, I fell in love with Harper as a main character. Even as she was thrown into a world lightyears away from her own, she remained strong and did her best to contribute. When I wrote this book, it felt like I was following the story rather than writing it. Harper wrote her own story, and it flowed as life kept dealing her bad cards over and over again.

Harper's story continues in the sequel, where she continues her hunt with old and new friends. I finally have the sequel fully outlined, and now it is all about writing. Never-Ending Nightmares 2 will have 29 chapters, excluding the prologue and epilogue. I plan for the sequel to be the end of the series, so there will be no cliffhangers and no trilogy. So far, there are 9 chapters done, and I hope to get at least half of the book written by the end of the year. I try not to put any specific dates, as my writing process tends to be slow, but just know that the first draft is underway!

If you haven't already, you can give my books a read HERE! Hoping your day is wonderful <3
