Although days off are usually meant for lounging and taking a breather from the overall stresses of life, I have a pretty set routine that allows me to get my projects done.
So let's get into my off-day rituals!
After peeling myself off the bed, which can be between ten and eleven, I make my bed and head to the bathroom, where I brush my teeth, wash my face, and put on my contacts.
Then, it's time for a light brunch, which usually consists of a matcha latte and some toast or yogurt with fruit. Unfortunately, coffee and I have a tumultuous relationship, so I've found my caffeine in matcha. Personally, it is one of my more recent obsessions!
While I'm eating/digesting, I take some time to check the scheduling site I use for social media, check if I have enough blog posts scheduled out, and based on what I see I'll make a to-do list. If I see that my posts are about to run out, I mark down what social site is running low so I know what to work on later in the afternoon
I currently poetry (written or spoken) on TikTok, Twitter (which is now X), Tumblr, Instagram, Facebook, and occasionally Threads. It seems like a crazy amount, but having an app where I can schedule most things in advance has helped TREMENDOUSLY. This way, I can bulk schedule, and have more time to interact with other amazing poets.
Around twelve-thirty, I start stretching, and after half an hour I start to work out. My current routine is pretty long, so I won't list it here, but if you're interested, click HERE for the playlist I follow! It takes about 45 minutes to finish and leaves me with shaky limbs for the rest of the day.
If I need to, I'll clean the bathroom or my room at this point before taking a shower, which may or may not include hair washing. The rest of the day is pretty relaxed after this. Usually, I will play some video games, continue writing, or read. I try to make use of all my free time, but I would be lying if I said I don't get sucked into TikTok for a few hours :D
