Terms and Conditions (Book 2 of 3) by Lauren Asher

First Line:

“It’s a crime to celebrate a day like today all by yourself.”

Summary:

In order to gain his grandfather's inheritance, Declan Kane must marry and have an heir. That would be easy if only he weren't so closed off and work-focused. Fortunately, his assistant Iris jumps in to save him when he sends his bride-to-be running for the hills. The only problem? She is bold, funny, and impossibly charming. It becomes impossible for the two to avoid feelings that arise as their fake marriage grows into something more.

My Review: NO SPOILERS

Iris and Declan are THE couple!

Their banter from the beginning was so hilarious, I found myself giggling and kicking my feet. They work so well together! Also, having an interracial couple was AMAZING to read about. Such a small detail that I really found myself enjoying. Also, unlike in the first book, I didn't find Iris' optimistic personality too overbearing. She is witty, has a dark humor, and is not afraid to fight back when needed.

I also love Declan's small gestures for her that show he cares for her. He's a grumpy man of few words, but I love him for that. And the chemistry?! Chef's kisses. I loved the unspoken feelings, the small touches, agh! Loved it! The only gripe I had was in the last few chapters that made me hesitant about wanting them to be together, but otherwise much better than book 1!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

My Favorite Quote(s):

Compared to Cal’s golden-boy look of blond hair and blue eyes, Declan reminds me of the deepest part of the ocean—cold, dark, and unnervingly quiet. Like a monster lurking within reach, only a breath away from making someone his prey. From his dark hair to the permanent grimace etched into his face, he gives off a feeling that makes everyone turn in the opposite direction.
